The Heart of Texas Green Expo is being ‘Recycled’ for 2015

During the past five years, Keep Bastrop County Beautiful (KBCB) has experienced tremendous growth.  From the first meeting of a few people trying to increase recycling in 2009, to producing three successful Heart of Texas Green Expo events, the journey has been exciting. As a result, KBCB has become the ‘go- to’ organization on matters and events for recycling and sustainability.

TeamThe Heart of Texas Green Expo has been a catalyst for building a network of like-minded organizations working to positively impact the environment in Central Texas. The expo has achieved and even surpassed the goals originally set for this annual event, and we have been in awe of the response. Now we are eager to build on that success and broaden our reach.

As we look to the future, we have chosen not to produce the Heart of Texas Green Expo in 2015, but instead we are expanding our focus and strengthening our efforts to better serve the community through a variety of events and activities. This approach allows us to educate, inspire and unite a greater number of Bastrop County residents, reaching them where they live, work and play throughout the year.

We hope we can count on your continued support of the Keep Bastrop County Beautiful mission to inspire individuals and businesses to improve local communities and the natural environment. Support from our sponsors, members and volunteers will enable us to continue to conduct important projects, including Colorado River Cleanups, the Recycle More Art Contest, Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebrations, Educational Grants and Scholarships, Household Hazardous Waste Cleanups, FestiviTREES and more. These projects exemplify the future of KBCB as we strive to reduce litter, increase recycling and foster sustainability.

As an all-volunteer, non-profit entity, it’s important that we make the most of finite resources, even as we position the organization for additional growth and expansion. We look forward to working with all our supporters to help us maintain forward momentum as we embark on the next step of our evolution.
